About Us
Neighborhood Housing Services of Davenport Iowa, Inc. is a 501(c)3 and created in 1981 by community members who identified a need for an organization to rehabilitate and preserve affordable and/or historic properties within the City of Davenport.  Over the years this mission has adapted to meet the identified needs of the community.  In 2002 NHS of Davenport also adopted the name Mississippi Valley Neighborhood Housing Services.

NHS is a Iowa Licensed Mortgage Bank, a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), a certified HUD Housing Counseling Entity, and a member of the Scott County Housing Cluster.

The Mission of NHS is to promote and sustain affordable housing options for low and moderate income individuals and families, to renew pride, restore confidence, promote reinvestment, and revitalize neighborhoods.

Neighborhood Housing Services is working to create a more humane world where poverty is alleviated, communities are healthy and all people can develop their full potential. We believe that neighborhood reinvestment programs improve the economic status of residents, transform neighborhoods and stabilize lives.
